I am not sure what happened within me, but for the past couple of weeks I have been researching a lot about fitness, diets, workouts, etc. I think my level of commitment has finally peaked and I am willing to do what it takes to become a healthier person.
I recently joined the Rebellion at NerdFitness (I encourage you to do so as well!) and have become interested in the Paleo Diet (read more about it here). Basically it’s eating like our hunter/gatherer ancestors did, meat and veggies! Starting on Monday, Tom and I will be giving up grains and dairy for 30 days and see how we feel afterwards. Giving up cheese and pasta will be very hard, but I think we can do it.
I will be documenting how I feel about this on a daily basis, publishing what I have eaten as well as the workout I am doing. On Monday you’ll see my starting weight, my measurements and my mood (I’ll see what I can do about getting Tom to do the same) and possibly a picture of us! I want proof of the changes before and after. I’m thinking about getting a white board and hanging it outside of the bathroom (where the scale is kept) as a daily reminder that we’re doing this.
I’m very excited about all of support I am getting from the Rebellion as well as Tom – and hope to be an inspiration for others to come.
I’m going to try this diet!! I need to meal plan with my parents though because we still do group dinner. I need to throw out all my snacks at work >.> and replace with nuts!
